Monsters, hospitals and a birthday
Sunday Beau and I drove to AL to spend the day at the hospital with my Uncle Red. He's still in the ICU, but at least they've moved him to an actual room in that ward. He's been diagnosed with atrial defibulation (SP?), which is a skipping of his heartbeat. He's been in the ICU a week and they are still trying to get his heart to beat correctly. They are talking about doing a proceedure where they stop his heart, then shock it to restart it. Or installing a pacemaker. I just wish they'd give us a plan of action. I can't understand why it's taking them so long to decide what to do.
Later that night Beau and I watched "Oswald's Ghost" on PBS. It was a really fascinating documentary about the JFK asassination, and had a LOT of photos, newsreels and interviews that I'd never seen before.
Monday was Beau's birthday. We bought his mandolin at Guitar Center, then went to Hidalgo for Mexican food. Later we went to see "Cloverfield", which I loved! It was exactly what I expected (big, scary monster attacking NYC), and I loved that the entire story was told from a shaky personal video camera point of view. And the movie was scary, intense and avoided the "hollywood ending" that I so despise. It was well worth the money! Later we watched a history channel special that was entitled something like "The World Without Us", which told in graphic detail what would happen to our civilization if people suddenly disappeared. It was really interesting to see what the earth would be like if it was only inhabited by plants, ocean life and animals.
Finally finished Robert McCammon's latest book, "The Queen Of Bedlam" and it was brilliant! If you like books with history, interesting characters and loads of mystery go pick this one up....and his other books too while you're at it. He's one of my favorite writers.

Thanks for the offer Mike! We got really great service at the GC on Pleasant Hill. Especially from an Irish guy named Andrew. He was a huge help. Are you going to be effected by the sale of GC to Circuit City?
Not going to ACE. Are you?

yeah we're going to ACE on Saturday....I'm dj'ing Friday night at Electrohurtz, and we are hitting ACE all day Saturday and Sat night Spider is spinning at ACE.

I'm glad to hear you were taken care of! GC was actually bought by a private company named Bain Capital. thats what they do. they take a successful business, buy it, hang on to it and do some restructuring, then sell it for a profit.

my job changed a little this year, but no big deal. =]
thanks for checking. hope to see you two soon.
