Beau and I had a busy Saturday. I was supposed to go see a friend play at a bar in Buckhead. Something I'd been promising to do for quite awhile. I probably should have asked him what time he was playing because when I called the bar just before 7pm, I was told that he was just about to go on. The bar is nearly an hour away from where I live. We would have missed his whole set. Dammit. So Bellian I owe you big time. Had sushi at Sake Gura. Bought some cds a Best Buy (The Black Keys, the new Panic At The Disco, the new Gnarls Barkley and a Tom Waits collection). Yep. I'm that one person who still trades hard earned funds for actual cds. I look at it as an investment in the artists that I love listening to. If they make money making music, they may continue to make music. And that makes me a happy girl. So far, the Black Keys has been the best of the bunch.
Later we went to a party at Stephanie and Jeff's. Saw a lot of old friends, met some great new people. Had much fun.
Drove to AL today. Spent the day with my Uncles, which is always an adventure. My Uncle's stories about tending cattle, dirt roads and playing poker in the woods behind the cotton mill is a sharp contrast to the boom in development that my hometown is seeing right now, thanks to their new Kia plant. I don't think either of my Uncles is terribly happy about the changes that are taking place in their little town.
