Our Weekend
Beau and I went to the Masquerade on Saturday to see one of my favorite bands, Murder By Death. I really enjoyed the show, but they seemed a little tired. Odd since their tour just started. Still, the music was great. They're Alt-Country and sound a bit like a really depressed, morbid Johnny Cash. And they have some great songs about death, hanging, the devil and werewolves. They're on my friend's list if you'd like to sample them. Their opening bands, Kiss Kiss and O'Death were much in the same Alt-Country vein and were both quite good. O'Death had one of the most amazing drummers I've ever seen and his kit included a chain, a gas can a gourd. Incredible. The crowd was great too. They actually came to see the bands and not to drink, smoke and make asses out of themselves. That was a nice change from some of the last shows we went to see. Afterwards we had dinner at R.Thomas. YUM!
We spent Sunday cleaning the house and washing the dogs. And we watched "American Gangster" which was really good. It was actually better than I had expected.
